In the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and some other countries “Boxing Day” is primarily known as a shopping holiday where shops often go to large price reductions in their merchandise.
According to Daily Mail, shoppers have been spotted in their droves in towns and cities across the UK as they hope to make the most of today’s biggest deals. “Bargain hunters were even still wearing their pyjamas and dressing gowns as they were seen queueing up as early as 6 am in the morning”, reports the article of Daily Mail.

Shoppers are expected to spend up to £4.6 billion in “Boxing Day” sales, equating to an average of £236 each.
