A new attack by climate activists on a famous work of arts has taken place this time at the Museum of Fine Arts in Montreal, Canada.
A 21-year-old activist threw pink paint on Picasso’s “L’hetaire” without causing any irreparable damage as the painting is covered in protective glass.
Footage posted on social media by the climate activist group Last Generation Canada shows their actions.
“Today, I am not attacking art, nor am I destroying it. I am protecting it. “Art, at its core, is a depiction of life. It is by the living, for the living. There is no art on a dead planet,” Marcel, 21, who was arrested for his act, said in a statement.

Νέα επίθεση από ακτιβιστές του κλίματος σε διάσημο έργο τέχνης, σημειώθηκε αυτή τη φορά στο Μουσείο Καλών Τεχνών στο Μόντρεαλ του Καναδά.
Ένας 21χρονος ακτιβιστής έριξε ροζ μπογιά πάνω στον πίνακα ζωγραφικής ” L’hetaire” του Πικάσο, χωρίς να προκαλέσει ανεπανόρθωτη ζημιά καθώς ο πίνακας καλύπτεται από προστατευτικό γυαλί.
Στιγμιότυπα του βανδαλισμού δημοσιεύτηκαν στα social media από την ομάδα κλίμα Last Generation Canada.
«Σήμερα, δεν επιτίθεμαι στην τέχνη, ούτε την καταστρέφω. Την προστατεύω. Η τέχνη, στον πυρήνα της, είναι απεικονίσεις της ζωής. Είναι από τους ζωντανούς, για τους ζωντανούς. Δεν υπάρχει τέχνη σε έναν νεκρό πλανήτη» αναφέρει σε δήλωσή του ο Μαρσέλ 21 ετών που συνελήφθη για την πράξη του.
