A sad event occurred at the famous archaeological site of the Mausoleum of Emperor Qin Shi Huang in China.
A man managed to break into the area where the tomb’s clay soldiers-guardians are located and after destroying some of the statues, he lay on the ground with a huge smile on his face.
The 30-year-old man, visiting the museum in Xi’an on Friday, climbed over a guardrail and protective netting before jumping into one of the excavation pits, according to a statement from public security officials. The individual reportedly “pushed and pulled” several of the clay warriors, resulting in damage to two of the figures.
Authorities noted that the man has been diagnosed with a mental illness, and the incident remains under investigation. Museum security personnel promptly intervened and restrained him at the scene. The pit in question is approximately 5.4 meters (18 feet) deep, as stated on the museum’s official website.

Ένα απίστευτο και θλιβερό γεγονός συνέβη στον διάσημο αρχαιολογικό χώρο του Μαυσωλείου του Αυτοκράτορα Qin Shi Huang στην Κίνα.
Ένας άνδρας κατάφερε να εισβάλει στην περιοχή όπου βρίσκονται οι πήλινοι στρατιώτες-φύλακες του τάφου και αφού κατέστρεψε μερικά από τα αγάλματα, ξάπλωσε στο έδαφος με ένα τεράστιο χαμόγελο στο πρόσωπό του.
Ο 30χρονος άνδρας, επισκεπτόμενος το μουσείο στο Xi’an την Παρασκευή, σκαρφάλωσε πάνω από ένα προστατευτικό κιγκλίδωμα και ένα προστατευτικό δίχτυ πριν πηδήξει σε έναν από τους λάκκους ανασκαφής, σύμφωνα με δήλωση αξιωματούχων δημόσιας ασφάλειας.
Το άτομο φέρεται να «έσπρωξε και να τράβηξε» αρκετούς από τους πήλινους πολεμιστές, με αποτέλεσμα να τραυματιστούν δύο από τις φιγούρες.
Οι αρχές σημείωσαν ότι ο άνδρας έχει διαγνωστεί με ψυχική ασθένεια και το περιστατικό παραμένει υπό διερεύνηση. Το προσωπικό ασφαλείας του μουσείου παρενέβη άμεσα και τον ακινητοποίησε στο σημείο. Ο εν λόγω λάκκος έχει βάθος περίπου 5,4 μέτρα (18 πόδια), όπως αναφέρεται στην επίσημη ιστοσελίδα του μουσείου.
