An assassination attempt on Colombian presidential candidate Miguel Uribe was captured on video during his speech in Bogota.
Two people, a man and a woman, were injured in the attack, the motive for which is not yet known.
The senator, who was shot six times, was rushed to hospital where he underwent surgery. His condition remains critical.According to the paramedics who took the senator, he was shot twice in the head and once in the knee.
The 15-year-old alleged gunman who opened fire during a speech to a crowd has been arrested, as authorities search for possible accomplices.
Τhe Colombian attorney general’s office announced that “a minor under 15 years of age was arrested in possession of a Glock (9mm) pistol” and added that Colombian President Gustavo Petro has ordered an investigation to identify the individuals who organized and ordered the attack.

Σε βίντεο καταγράφηκε η απόπειρα δολοφονίας του υποψηφίου για την προεδρία της Κολομβίας, Μιγκέλ Ουρίμπε, κατά τη διάρκεια ομιλίας του στην Μπογκοτά.
Δύο άνθρωποι, ένας άνδρας και μία γυναίκα, τραυματίστηκαν επίσης από την επίθεση, τα κίνητρα της οποίας δεν είναι ακόμη γνωστά.
Ο γερουσιαστής, που δέχτηκε 6 σφαίρες, μεταφέρθηκε εσπευσμένα στο νοσοκομείο, όπου υποβλήθηκε σε χειρουργική επέμβαση. Η κατάσταση της υγείας του παραμένει κρίσιμη.
Όπως δήλωσαν οι τραυματιοφορείς που παρέλαβαν τον γερουσιαστή, αυτός έχει δεχθεί δύο σφαίρες στο κεφάλι και μία στο γόνατο.
Ο 15χρονος φερόμενος ως δράστης, που άνοιξε πυρ κατά τη διάρκεια ομιλίας με πλήθος συγκεντρωμένων, συνελήφθη. Οι Αρχές αναζητούν πιθανούς συνεργούς του.
Το γραφείο του γενικού εισαγγελέα της Κολομβίας ανακοίνωσε ότι “ένας ανήλικος κάτω των 15 ετών συνελήφθη έχοντας στην κατοχή του ένα πιστόλι τύπου Glock (9 χιλιοστών)” και πρόσθεσε ότι ο Κολομβιανός πρόεδρος Γουστάβο Πέτρο έχει ζητήσει έρευνα για τον εντοπισμό των ατόμων που οργάνωσαν και διέταξαν την επίθεση.
