The battle of firefighters to bring under control the huge fire that broke out on Tuesday (05/07), near the village of Ribaute in the Aude region in southern France, continues for a third day.
The fiery nightmare has so far burned more than 34,000 acres, an area larger than Paris and cost the life of one person.
According to colonel Christophe Magny, one of the officers who leads the operations, told BFM TV that the fire is not under control.
The fire is raging near the Spanish border on the Mediterranean side but the wind, which had been pushing the flames towards the Mediterranean coast, changed and directed the fire again towards the Corbières mountain.
