India: Massive floods wiped out a village in a few minutes

Massive floods of the Kheer Ganga river triggered a catastrophy in Dharali village of Uttarkashi district in India.

As captured on footage the village, located on the pilgrim route to Gangotri Dham, was vanished in a matter of few minutes, with flood waters washing away homes, shops and hotels. Times of India reports that according to villagers 20 to 25 hotels have been swept away.

According to local media, at least 4 people have lost their lifes and more than 50 people are missing.

Οι μαζικές πλημμύρες του ποταμού Kheer Ganga προκάλεσαν καταστροφή στο χωριό Dharali της περιφέρειας Uttarkashi στην Ινδία.

Όπως καταγράφηκε σε βίντεο, το χωριό, που βρίσκεται στη διαδρομή των προσκυνητών προς το Gangotri Dham, εξαφανίστηκε μέσα σε λίγα λεπτά, τα νερά παρασύρουν σπίτια, καταστήματα και ξενοδοχεία.

Η εφημερίδα Times of India αναφέρει ότι, σύμφωνα με τους χωρικούς, 20 έως 25 ξενοδοχεία έχουν παρασυρθεί.

Σύμφωνα με τα τοπικά μέσα ενημέρωσης, τουλάχιστον 4 άνθρωποι έχουν χάσει τη ζωή τους και περισσότεροι από 50 αγνοούνται.
