Another tourist has been added to the list of people who climbed the Mayan temple of Kukulcan in Chichén Itzá in Mexico, provoking strong reactions from tourists and locals who were at the scene.
The climb to the temple of the German tourist was recorded by a female tourist. As can be seen in the video, the man, ignoring the prohibitory measures, climbs the stairs and immediately after two male guards follow him.
Tourists and locals started booing on him.
Personnel from the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) and the National Guard (GN) removed the German tourist from the archaeological zone.
As he was leaving from the archaeological site, the gathered crowd began to curse him and some people even tried to hit him.
It must be noted that since 2008, tourist access to the Mayan temple has been prohibited.
