Aeroplanes in London and Edinburgh are grounded due to a technical problem with the air traffic system.
The air traffic control body (NATS) has announced that in the interests of air safety it is limiting the number of aircraft flying over London, as well as Edinburgh, Scotland.
“Due to a technical problem at the NATS Swanwick air traffic control centre, we are limiting the number of aircraft flying in the London control area in order to ensure safety, which is always our first priority. We apologise for any delays this may cause.
Our engineers are working hard to resolve the issue as soon as possible and we are working closely with the airlines to minimise disruption.
At this stage we cannot say how long it will take for flights to return to their normal schedule. Please contact your airline to check the status of your flight.”

Καθηλωμένα βρίσκονται τα αεροπλάνα σε Λονδίνο και Εδιμβούργο λόγω τεχνικού προβλήματος στο σύστημα εναέριας κυκλοφορίας.
Ο φορέας ελέγχου των πτήσεων (NATS) ανακοίνωσε ότι για λόγους ασφάλειας των αεροπορικών δρομολογίων περιορίζει τον αριθμό των αεροσκαφών που πετούν πάνω από το Λονδίνο, καθώς και το Εδιμβούργο της Σκωτίας.
«Λόγω τεχνικού προβλήματος στο κέντρο ελέγχου εναέριας κυκλοφορίας NATS Swanwick, περιορίζουμε τον αριθμό των αεροσκαφών που πετούν στην περιοχή ελέγχου του Λονδίνου, προκειμένου να διασφαλίσουμε την ασφάλεια, η οποία είναι πάντα η πρώτη μας προτεραιότητα. Ζητούμε συγγνώμη για τυχόν καθυστερήσεις που αυτό μπορεί να προκαλέσει.
Οι μηχανικοί μας εργάζονται σκληρά για να επιλύσουν το πρόβλημα το συντομότερο δυνατό και συνεργαζόμαστε στενά με τις αεροπορικές εταιρείες για να ελαχιστοποιήσουμε τις διαταραχές.
