Πέθανε ο Πάπας Φραγκίσκος -

Έφυγε από τη ζωή ο Πάπας Φραγκίσκος σε ηλικία 88 ετών.

Σύμφωνα με ανακοίνωση του Βατικανού, ο Ποντίφικας άφησε την τελευταία του πνοή σήμερα (21/04) στην οικία της Σάντα Μάρτα.

Ο Καρδινάλιος Kevin Farrell, Camerlengo της Αποστολικής Αίθουσας, ανακοίνωσε τον θάνατο του Πάπα Φραγκίσκου από το Casa Santa Marta με τα εξής λόγια:

“Αγαπητοί αδελφοί και αδελφές, με βαθιά λύπη πρέπει να ανακοινώσω τον θάνατο του Αγίου Πατέρα μας Φραγκίσκου. Στις 7:35 σήμερα το πρωί, ο Επίσκοπος Ρώμης Φραγκίσκος επέστρεψε στο σπίτι του Πατέρα. Ολόκληρη η ζωή του ήταν αφιερωμένη στην υπηρεσία του Κυρίου και της Εκκλησίας Του. Με απέραντη ευγνωμοσύνη για το παράδειγμά του ως αληθινού μαθητή του Κυρίου Ιησού, επαινούμε την ψυχή του Πάπα Φραγκίσκου στην απέραντη ελεήμονα αγάπη του Ενός και Τριαδικού Θεού».

Ο Πάπας εισήχθη στο Πολυκλινικό Νοσοκομείο Agostino Gemelli την Παρασκευή 14 Φεβρουαρίου 2025, αφού υπέφερε από βρογχίτιδα για αρκετές ημέρες.

Η κλινική κατάσταση του Πάπα Φραγκίσκου επιδεινώθηκε σταδιακά και οι γιατροί του διέγνωσαν αμφοτερόπλευρη πνευμονία την Τρίτη 18 Φεβρουαρίου.

Μετά από 38 ημέρες στο νοσοκομείο, ο αείμνηστος Πάπας επέστρεψε στην κατοικία του στο Βατικανό στο Casa Santa Marta για να συνεχίσει την ανάρρωση του.

Pope Francis has died at the age of 88.

According to a Vatican announcement, the Pontiff breathed his last today (21/04) at the residence of Santa Marta.

At 9:45 AM, Cardinal Kevin Farrell, Camerlengo of the Apostolic Chamber, announced the death of Pope Francis from the Casa Santa Marta with these words:

“Dearest brothers and sisters, with deep sorrow I must announce the death of our Holy Father Francis. At 7:35 this morning, the Bishop of Rome, Francis, returned to the house of the Father. His entire life was dedicated to the service of the Lord and of His Church. He taught us to live the values of the Gospel with fidelity, courage, and universal love, especially in favor of the poorest and most marginalized. With immense gratitude for his example as a true disciple of the Lord Jesus, we commend the soul of Pope Francis to the infinite merciful love of the One and Triune God.”

The Pope was admitted to the Agostino Gemelli Polyclinic Hospital on Friday, February 14, 2025, after suffering from a bout of bronchitis for several days.

Pope Francis’ clinical situation gradually worsened, and his doctors diagnosed bilateral pneumonia on Tuesday, February 18.

After 38 days in hospital, the late Pope returned to his Vatican residence at the Casa Santa Marta to continue his recovery.
