Italian police are investigating a possible arson attack on a Tesla dealership in Rome overnight that destroyed 17 cars, a security source said on Monday.
Italy’s anti-terror police unit Digos is leading the investigation and is looking into the possibility that anarchists set the cars on fire in the eastern suburbs of Rome, the source said. Drone footage showed the burnt-out cars in a parking lot.

Tesla cars have been targeted by vandalism in several countries in response to the right-wing activism of the company’s owner, Elon Musk. The billionaire, who also owns the X platform, has joined US President Donald Trump’s administration and has supported far-right parties in Europe.
The fire service said in a statement that the fire broke out at around 4:30 a.m. (02:30 GMT) and the delegation suffered partial damage, but no one was injured.
