One person died and 7 other people were injured after the explosion of a bomb inside a Cyber Truck in front of Trump Tower Hotel in Las Vegas.
According to Sheriff Kevin McMahill’s press conference:
- At approximately 8:40 a.m., reports were received of a vehicle explosion.
- One person inside the Cyber Truck was killed, and seven others were injured.
- Authorities have confirmed there is no further threat to the community.
- The public is urged to avoid the immediate area around the explosion site.
The driver of the Cybertruck parked infront of the hotel’s entrance and after 15 to 20 seconds it exploded. The driver was killed instantly and 7 people who were standing next to the entrance were injured by the blast.
McMahill reported that the truck was rented in Colorado.
Police is looking into any possible connections to the deadly attack in New Orleans.

The identity of the driver
Matt Lievelsberger, 37, a former US Army veteran from Colorado Springs, was behind the wheel of the vehicle that exploded outside the hotel, injuring seven people.
Matt Lievelsberger, who blew himself up in front of the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas, had served in Afghanistan for several tours and was a member of the United States Army for the past 19 years. Las Vegas authorities say that because the suspect used a Tesla Cybertruck, which has 1.4-millimeter body panels and 1.8-millimeter doors, the explosion caused minimal damage to the hotel. According to officials, even the hotel lobby windows, which were just a few feet from the vehicle, were not destroyed. Officials say the bulk of the explosion was contained within the vehicle and toward its roof, rather than spreading out the sides and causing fatal injuries to bystanders.
Elon Musk comments on X
After the incident Elon Musk wrote on X:
“The whole Tesla senior team is investigating this matter right now. Will post more information as soon as we learn anything. We’ve never seen anything like this”.
In another tweet Musk said:
“Appears likely to be an act of terrorism. Both this Cybertruck and the F-150 suicide bomb in New Orleans were rented from Turo. Perhaps they are linked in some way”.
The evil knuckleheads picked the wrong vehicle for a terrorist attack. Cybertruck actually contained the explosion and directed the blast upwards.
