The first patient infected with the new variant of the virus Mpox or Monkeypox has been identified in France,according to a statement from the french Ministry of Health.
As reported by the newspaper Le Parisien, the patient is a woman who is hospitalized at the University Hospital of Rennes. Her health condition is not a cause for concern.
The patient “had not traveled to Central Africa” but “was in contact with two people who had returned” from this high-risk area, the ministry said, adding that “investigations are underway to identify the origin of the infection and to trace all contacts.”

Ο πρώτος ασθενής που μολύνθηκε από τη νέα παραλλαγή του ιού Mpox ή Monkeypox εντοπίστηκε στη Γαλλία, σύμφωνα με ανακοίνωση του γαλλικού υπουργείου Υγείας.
Όπως αναφέρει η εφημερίδα Le Parisien, ασθενής είναι μια γυναίκα που νοσηλεύεται στο Πανεπιστημιακό Νοσοκομείο της Ρεν. Η κατάσταση της υγείας της δεν προκαλεί ανησυχία.
H ασθενής «δεν είχε ταξιδέψει στην Κεντρική Αφρική» αλλά «ήταν σε επαφή με δύο άτομα που είχαν επιστρέψει» από αυτή την περιοχή υψηλού κινδύνου, ανέφερε το υπουργείο, προσθέτοντας ότι «διεξάγονται έρευνες για τον εντοπισμό της προέλευσης της μόλυνσης και για τον εντοπισμό όλων επαφές.”
