Εντυπωσιακή ήταν η τελετή εορτασμού των γενεθλίων του Βασιλιά Καρόλου, γνωστή και ως Trooping the Colour, η οποία πραγματοποιήθηκε το Σάββατο (14/06).
Τα φώτα έκλεψαν η πριγκίπισσα της Ουαλίας Κέιτ αλλά η κόρη της, πριγκίπισσα Σάρλοτ, οι οποίες μαζί με τους πρίγκιπες Τζώρτζ και Λούις βρίσκονταν μέσα στη βασιλική άμαξα. Το ίδιο και ο πρίγκιπας Ουίλιαμ ο οποίος ακολούθησε τη μεγαλειώδης πομπή προς το παλάτι του Μπάκινγχαμ έφιππος και με στρατιωτική στολή.
Τα μέλη της βασιλικής οικογένειας εμφανίστηκαν στο μπαλκόνι του Παλατιού του Μπάκιγχαμ μετά την παρέλαση Trooping the Colour.
Η βασιλική οικογένεια παρακολούθησαν τις αεροπορικές επιδείξεις των Red Arrows, ελικόπτερα Chinook και ένα βομβαρδιστικό Lancaster, ένα μοντέλο που χρησιμοποιήθηκε κατά τη διάρκεια του Β’ Παγκοσμίου Πολέμου. Στους εορτασμούς συμμετείχαν επίσης πάνω από 1.000 στρατιώτες, 200 άλογα και 300 μουσικοί.
Νωρίτερα, ο πρίγκιπας Τζορτζ, η πριγκίπισσα Σάρλοτ και ο πρίγκιπας Λούις εθεάθησαν να σκύβουν τα κεφάλια τους σε ένδειξη σεβασμού, καθώς η βασιλική οικογένεια τήρησε ενός λεπτού σιγή στη μνήμη των 270 ανθρώπων που μέχρι στιγμής είναι γνωστό ότι σκοτώθηκαν στην τραγωδία της Air India.

Over 1,000 soldiers, around 200 horses and approximately 300 musicians came together in a display of Military precision, horsemanship and fanfare to mark The King’s official birthday.

The Trooping the Colour ceremony to celebrate King Charles’ birthday was impressive.
Kate, Princess of Wales, and her daughter, Princess Charlotte, stole the show, riding in the royal carriage with Princes George and Louis. Prince William also rode in the magnificent procession to Buckingham Palace on horseback and in military uniform.
The royals appeared on the balcony of Buckingham Palace after the Trooping the Colour parade.
The royal family watched air displays by the Red Arrows, Chinook helicopters and a Lancaster bomber, a model used during World War II.The celebrations also included over 1,000 soldiers, 200 horses and 300 musicians.
Earlier, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis were seen bowing their heads in respect as the royal family observed a minute’s silence in memory of the 270 people so far known to have died in the Air India tragedy.
