The talks between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations on the ceasefire began with an hour and a half delay.
According to TASS agency, sources report that there was no “traditional” handshake between the members of the two representatives, before the start of the negotiations.
At the beginning of the meeting, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated, among other things, that “the eyes of the whole world are focused on these talks.”
The two delegations in Istanbul are expected to discuss, among other things, the possible meeting between Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky.
It should be noted that the talks are taking place behind closed doors, while statements are expected after their completion.
Με μιάμιση ώρα καθυστέρηση ξεκίνησαν οι συνομιλίες μεταξύ της ρωσικής και της ουκρανικής αντιπροσωπείας για την κατάπαυση του πολέμου.
Σύμφωνα με το πρακτορείο TASS, πηγές αναφέρουν ότι δεν υπήρξε η “παραδοσιακή” χειραψία μεταξύ των μελών των δύο αντιπροσωπειών πριν την έναρξη των συνομιλιών.
Κατά την έναρξη της συνάντησης, ο Τούρκος Υπουργός Εξωτερικών Χακάν Φιντάν, δήλωσε μεταξύ άλλων ότι «τα μάτια ολόκληρου του κόσμου είναι στραμμένα σε αυτές τις συνομιλίες».
Οι δυο αντιπροσωπείες στην Κωνσταντινούπολη αναμένεται μεταξύ άλλων να συζητήσουν και τη πιθανή συνάντηση ανάμεσα σε Βλάντιμιρ Πούτιν και Βολοντίμιρ Ζελένσκι.
Να σημειωθεί ότι οι συζητήσεις γίνονται κεκλεισμένων των θυρών, ενώ αναμένονται δηλώσεις μετά την ολοκλήρωσή τους.
