In one of the deadliest tourist boat accidents in Vietnam, at least 38 of the 53 people on board have died.
The tourist boat with 48 Vietnamese tourists and a crew of 5, who were touring the popular Ha Long Bay in northern Vietnam, begins to list, as bad weather conditions prevail in the area, with winds and rain.
In front of the terrified eyes of fishermen and sailors from nearby ships, the boat eventually capsizes and sinks.
A rescue operation is immediately launched. Ten passengers have been located and rescued, while the search for the missing continues, while the death of 38 passengers has been confirmed, including 8 children.
According to the authorities, the accident was due to local weather phenomena, which have not been affected by the approach of Hurricane Uifa to the area, which is expected early next week.

Σε ένα από τα πλέον πολυνεκρά δυστυχήματα με τουριστικά σκάφη στο Βιετνάμ, τουλάχιστον 38 από τους 53 επιβαίνοντες έχασαν τη ζωή τους. Σοκαριστικό είναι το βίντεο που έχει καταγράψει τη στιγμή που το σκάφος, στο οποίο επέβαιναν, βυθίζεται.
Το τουριστικό σκάφος με τους 48 Βιετναμέζους τουρίστες και το 5μελές πλήρωμα, που έκανε περιήγηση στον δημοφιλή κόλπο Ha Long Bay στο βόρειο Βιετνάμ, αρχίζει και παίρνει κλίση, καθώς επικρατούν άσχημες καιρικές συνθήκες στην περιοχή, με ανέμους και βροχόπτωση.
Μπροστά στα έντρομα μάτια των ψαράδων και των ναυτικών από τα γύρω πλοίαρια, το σκάφος τελικά αναποδογυρτεί και βυθίζεται.
Αμέσως ξεκινάει επιχείρηση διάσωσης. Εντοπίζονται και διασώζονται δέκα επιβαίνοντες, ενώ συνεχίζεται η έρευνα για τους αγνοούμενους, ενώ έχει επιβεβαιωθεί ο θάνατος 38 επιβαινόντων, ανάμεσά τους και 8 παιδιά.
Σύμφωνα με τις Αρχές, το δυστύχημα οφείλεται σε τοπικά καιρικά φαινόμενα, που δεν έχουν επηρεαστεί από την προσέγγιση του τυφώνα Ουίφα στην περιοχή, που αναμένεται στις αρχές της επόμενης εβδομάδας.
