Meet the 12 volunteers from around the world who are sailing on #Madleen in the #FreedomFlotillaCoalition's steadfast mission to break Israel's illegal siege of Gaza and establish a people's sea corridor #AllEyesOnDeck #BreakTheSiege #endoccupation #Gaza pic.twitter.com/cimfieivTy— Freedom Flotilla Coalition (@GazaFFlotilla) June 2, 2025

Madleen has now been electronically jammed by Israel. All communication with the activists on the ship was lost and we can no longer track their location 😱#Madleen #FreedomFlotilla #MadleenToGaza #MadleenFlotilla https://t.co/QcRaji1CG2 pic.twitter.com/o13y1P8viD— Petite Ebony Girl 🇵🇸 (@PetiteEbonyGirl) June 8, 2025

The Madleen sailing ship has set off on a long journey from Sicily to Gaza, with the final destination being Gaza, in order to break the embargo and provide humanitarian aid to the Palestinians who are now facing starvation.
The ship’s crew consists of 12 activists, including Greta Thunberg. The other 11 members are:
Rima Hassan – France – Palestinian member of the European Parliament
Yasemin Acar – Germany
Baptiste Andre – France
Thiago Avila – Brazil
Omar Faiad – France, Al Jazeera journalist
Pascal Maurieras – France
Yanis Mhamdi – France
Suayb Ordu – Turkey
Sergio Toribio – Spain
Marco van Rennes – Netherlands
Reva Viard – France
The big question that arises, as the sailing ship is nearing the end of its journey, is whether the Madleen will succeed, or rather whether it will be allowed to achieve its goal.
According to a complaint from the crew, the Madleen’s tracking system shows that they are not 162 nautical miles from Gaza but at the Jordanian airport! “We know what that means, that they are preparing for an interception or an attack”.
Let us recall that last month, another ship carrying aid to Gaza was hit by drones in international waters off Malta.

It’s the 6th day of our journey onboard the Madleen to #breakthesiege of Gaza and create a people’s humanitarian sea corridor! The Freedom Flotilla Coalition will never stop due to the Zionists threats. We know we have billions of people along with the 12 of us on this boat! pic.twitter.com/FfIDDtVbX7— Thiago Ávila | Gaza Freedom Flotilla (@thiagoavilabr) June 6, 2025
